Sustainability Program

Following consideration of the importance of environmental sustainability and a commitment to be of benefit to the Tehri Garhwal community, ‘Ananda In the Himalayas’ is committed to strive to achieve environmental and social sustainability for the destination spa segment.

‘Ananda In the Himalayas’ commits to continually improve environmental and social sustainability performance. Spirituality, holistic living and balance are integral parts of the Ananda philosophy therefore being in harmony with nature and our surroundings is central to our core belief.

‘Ananda - In the Himalayas’ has developed environmental policies and procedures in accordance with the requirements of the Green Globe Company Standard. Our policies will be renewed and revised annually to ensure that we are always current in our approach toward a sustainable future. We have identified a green team at the property that is committed to the cause of sustainability; this team is responsible for ensuring ongoing environmental performance, identification of environmental risks, recording and monitoring of impacts and implementing environmental and social sustainability measures. A corporate green globe coordinator has also been appointed to guide the team and drive results.

Special consideration will be given to employing and empowering the local staff and wherever efficient and environmentally sustainable, products and services will be sourced locally.

‘Ananda - In the Himalayas’ will comply with all relevant legislation and regulations and will strive to achieve international best practice in the destination spa segment.

We encourage staff to present our commitment to environmental and social sustainability and our Benchmarked/Certified status under the Green Globe programme to our guests, suppliers, contractors, agents and wholesalers.
